Poster for LGS Open House April 18
Saturday, April 18, 2020 – Open House and Presentation at Cobourg Library – a co-sponsored event with Cobourg Library who will provide the Rotary Room. The open house portion would enable the public to meet with LGS members to gain answers to questions about their research. Topics might
include: where to begin; help with brick walls; researching locally; what’s in the library, etc. It’s anticipated there would be 5-6 manned tables.

Following this morning event, a topic that will suit experienced researchers as well as those new to genealogy, Leanne Cooper presents The Wonders of WikiTree. She will give an overview of WikiTree and its key features, and explore the ways the program supports finding and collaborating with distant cousins and other genealogists. The presentation would also be open to the public (with pre-registration). Below are links that will help you to assess the value of her talk.

Leanne Cooper lives in Ottawa and she is an active member of the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO).
